Summary
IMT Ghaziabad used one HoloBox to bring two remote guest speakers into a PGDM classroom as live, life-size holograms. The speakers joined from their own location, and students asked them questions and heard their answers in real time. Nobody in the room needed a headset or 3D glasses.

The brief
Bringing senior professionals and industry experts to campus takes time, travel and scheduling. A video call removes the travel, but it keeps the speaker inside a small screen and makes it harder for students to engage.
The aim was a live, two-way session where the speaker felt present in the room, and where students experienced mixed reality first-hand instead of only reading about it.
What we built
We placed a HoloBox in the classroom. It is an 86-inch 4K transparent display that shows a person at human height inside a transparent enclosure, visible to the naked eye. The guest speakers were streamed live into the unit, so they appeared standing in the room rather than on a flat screen.

How it worked on the day
Live guest lectures
The speakers appeared at life size inside the HoloBox and delivered their lectures without travelling to campus.

Questions answered in real time
Students asked questions directly and the speakers answered during the session, as they would in a normal lecture.

Two speakers, one unit
Two guest speakers appeared during the session, which showed that one HoloBox can bring more than one remote participant into the same class.

The technology became part of the lesson
Students did not just learn about mixed reality. They saw a live holographic deployment in their own classroom and used it as a working example of how remote communication can be done.

Results
Two guest speakers delivered a live, interactive session to PGDM students without coming to campus. Students saw them at life size and put questions to them directly. The same unit can now support other academic work too: faculty sessions, leadership talks, training, workshops and product demonstrations.
Frequently asked questions
Were the guest lectures live or recorded?
They were live. Students asked questions and the remote speakers answered during the session.
How many speakers appeared at IMT Ghaziabad?
Two guest speakers appeared during the classroom session.
Did students need 3D glasses or headsets?
No. Students saw the life-size speakers with the naked eye.
What is a hologram display?
A hologram display creates the effect of a life-size person or object standing inside a transparent enclosure. HoloBox uses an 86-inch 4K transparent display to show photorealistic content at human height.
Can universities use HoloBox for guest lectures?
Yes. It can bring industry experts, executives, faculty members and other remote speakers into classrooms for lectures, training, workshops and other academic sessions.
What does a HoloBox need in a classroom?
Suitable floor space, mains power and a reliable internet connection for live sessions. We can manage the hardware, content and live streaming set-up.
