Summary

Tata Electronics opened a visitor experience centre at its facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. We built its centrepiece: a 55-inch interactive 3D touchscreen coffee table that shows each product's journey across up to 25 production stages, live project status and the latest innovation decks. It runs fully offline to meet strict IP and NDA requirements, and was handed over within six weeks of project approval.

The brief

The client

Tata Electronics Private Limited was established in 2020 as a greenfield venture of the Tata Group. It works across four business lines: Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Semiconductor Assembly and Test, Semiconductor Foundry, and Design Services. It has strategic alliances with Qualcomm, Intel, ROHM and Merck Electronics.

The challenge

Showing semiconductor and electronics work to visiting clients is hard. Products are intricate, multi-stage assemblies, and the process is full of intellectual property. Visitors such as OEM partners, government delegations and investors need to understand the company's capability without walking across a live production floor. Photographs, static decks and video walls could not offer the interactivity needed.

Tata Electronics set four requirements:

  • Show complete product journeys, from raw component to final assembly, across several product lines in one interactive 3D interface.
  • Show live project status for active engagements during client visits.
  • Display the latest innovation decks and R&D updates without relying on a presenter's laptop.
  • Run fully offline and on-premise, with no internet dependency, to meet strict IP protection and NDA requirements.

What we built

We designed and deployed a custom interactive 3D touchscreen platform on a 55-inch touchscreen coffee table. It runs on a local, Windows-based system with no cloud sync, no external API calls and no internet access. All 3D models, annotations, product images and dashboards stay on Tata's internal network. The home screen has three modules, each one tap away.

3D product journeys across 25 production stages

Visitors explore the product range as interactive 3D models. Each product is mapped across up to 25 production stages, from first component to final assembly. At every stage the screen shows:

  • A 3D model visitors can rotate and zoom with pinch-and-pan gestures
  • Clickable hotspots on key components
  • An info panel with part details, tools used, cycle time and critical quality checkpoints
  • Real photographs from that production stage

Live project status dashboard

A dashboard designed to connect to Tata Electronics' internal project management systems shows visual summaries, timelines and status indicators for ongoing engagements. Client meetings can use live project information instead of slides, and no data leaves the site.

Offline innovation deck viewer

The team loads the latest PowerPoint and PDF decks straight onto the touchscreen. They display in full quality, are navigated by touch, and never depend on a guest network.

A simple admin CMS

Behind the three modules is an admin CMS that needs little technical knowledge. Tata's team can add, edit or delete categories, products, stages, 3D files and annotations themselves, and changes sync to the screen automatically, all within the local system.

Why it runs offline

For a company working in semiconductor design and electronics manufacturing, a cloud-based showcase was not an option. The set-up gives:

  • No external dependencies: no internet, no cloud and no third-party API calls.
  • Full IP residency: all assets stay on Tata's own hardware and network.
  • NDA-grade confidentiality, built in from day one.
  • Client ownership: the full intellectual property of the deployed solution belongs to Tata Electronics.

How it was delivered

To meet a time-sensitive client demonstration in August, we delivered in two phases.

  • Phase 1: a branded 32-inch touch panel with content-loading software, so Tata Electronics could show videos, PDFs and image decks to early client visitors straight away.
  • Phase 2: the full 55-inch interactive 3D touchscreen coffee table and custom platform, built, tested and handed over within six weeks of project approval, including on-site installation, configuration and CMS training for Tata's team.

Results

Tata Electronics now has a visitor experience centre where clients can follow products through production, see live project status and review innovation decks, without visiting the production floor and without any data leaving the site. The internal team manages all content itself, and the full system was in place within six weeks of approval.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What did Metaverse911 build for the Tata Electronics experience centre?

Metaverse911 built a 55-inch interactive 3D touchscreen coffee table as the centrepiece of the Tata Electronics visitor experience centre in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It shows each product's journey across up to 25 production stages, live project status and the latest innovation decks. The platform runs fully offline to meet strict IP and NDA requirements.

Why does the Tata Electronics touchscreen platform run offline?

The Tata Electronics touchscreen platform runs offline because a cloud-based showcase was not an option for a company working in semiconductor design and electronics manufacturing. It uses a local, Windows-based system with no internet, no cloud sync and no third-party API calls. All assets stay on Tata's own hardware and network, giving NDA-grade confidentiality.

How long did it take to deliver the Tata Electronics 3D touchscreen table?

The full Tata Electronics 55-inch 3D touchscreen table was built, tested and handed over within six weeks of project approval, including on-site installation, configuration and CMS training. To meet a time-sensitive client demonstration in August, Metaverse911 first delivered a branded 32-inch touch panel so early visitors could see videos, PDFs and image decks straight away.

What does each production stage show on the Tata Electronics touchscreen?

At each of up to 25 production stages, the Tata Electronics touchscreen shows a 3D model that visitors can rotate and zoom with pinch-and-pan gestures, clickable hotspots on key components, and an info panel with part details, tools used, cycle time and critical quality checkpoints. Real photographs from that production stage are shown alongside.

Can the Tata Electronics team update the touchscreen content itself?

The Tata Electronics team updates the touchscreen content itself through a simple admin CMS that needs little technical knowledge. Staff can add, edit or delete categories, products, stages, 3D files and annotations, and changes sync to the screen automatically within the local system. The full intellectual property of the deployed solution belongs to Tata Electronics.
